Five Senses sculptural resin face vase — White Nose or White Mouth form; resin; surrealist art-object desktop flower vessel and shelf sculpture. By Silo Stone Home.
The face-part vase is a genre of contemporary decorative object that does something most vessels do not: it makes the act of holding a flower human. The Five Senses series explores this through two specific anatomical forms — the Nose, where the stem passes through a nasal cavity, and the Mouth, where the opening takes the form of parted lips. Both are rendered in clean white resin, unmarked by colour or surface decoration, so the form itself is the entire statement. They operate within the surrealist tradition of object-making that celebrates the unexpected conjunction of the mundane and the uncanny, while remaining perfectly at home in a contemporary minimalist or art-forward interior arrangement. A conversation object as much as a functional vase.
